Responsible gambling
Limits, warning signs and where to ask for help.
Casino access in Mexico is for adults only and may require official photo ID. Gambling is entertainment with an expected cost — never an income source and never a way to win back money already lost.
Set three limits before you leave home and write them down: how much you can lose without affecting your regular expenses, how long you will play, and what time you leave. Take only that amount, do not use credit, and do not raise the budget to justify the trip.
Warning signs: chasing losses, hiding how much you play, borrowing to continue, arguments about it at home, or missed obligations. If any of these sound familiar, stop and ask for help.
Land-based venues in Mexico must handle self-exclusion and limit requests: ask at reception or at the casino’s own customer-service desk. Betting activity in the country is regulated by the Secretaría de Gobernación through the Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos, which also receives complaints. If gambling is affecting your health or your finances, seek professional support or a mutual-help group in your area.
